Ikangeng police searching for hit and run driver

Potchefstroom – TheIkageng police is asking for assistance in finding the owner of a green Toyota Corolla with the registration 117 NW  who allegedly ran over  and killed a 3-year-old boy.  The incident happened on Wednesday, 18 November 2015 at about 19:44 in Ikageng, Potchefstroom.
Sergeant KelebogileMoleko, police spokesperson, said the child was crossing the road when the car hit him and did not stop after the accident.  According to reports, the complainant alleged that he saw a car with the registration numbers 117 NW that hit the child. Allegations further stated that the registration numbers are incomplete as the incident happened at night. The boy sustained injuries on the left and right ankle,head,back of the body and stomach. He was transported to Potchefstroom Hospital and later died. The suspect is still at large.
Moleko said the police are appealing to the Ikageng community and the community at large to come forward with any information that may assist in finding the owner or driver of the car. A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
