21 injured in accidents near Carletonville

Carletonville – Three accidents in the Carletonville areas on three consecutive days have left 21 people with injuries.
Christa Bodasing, ER24 spokesperson, said in the first incident on Saturday, 3 October, nine people were injured in a collision between a car and a taxi in Wedela, Carletonville.
ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on the scene and found several members of the public around the area.Five people from the car and four from the taxi were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The second accident happened on Sunday, 4 October when six people were injured when a bakkie rolled after the driver had lost control of the vehicle on the R501 about 20km outside Carletonville. ER24’s paramedics found the bakkie on the side of the road with its occupants either walking, sitting or lying around the scene.The patients, which included three adults and three children, were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.
They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
Six people were left injured after a taxi t-boned a light motor vehicle on the R501, 8 kilometres outside of Carletonville, on Monday, 5 October.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found both the taxi and light motor vehicle lying on the side of the road. The light motor vehicle has sustained a large amount of damage to the passenger side.
Two patients from the light motor vehicle and four from the taxi had sustained injuries in the collision.Both occupants from the light motor vehicle lay trapped with the passenger in a critical condition. Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free both occupants.
Once freed, paramedics treated all the patients and provided the critically injured patient with advanced life support.
Once treated, all the patients were transported to various hospitals for urgent treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
